Cody loved the mountains and the outdoors. He attended and graduated from Franklin County High School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had completed his Eagle Scout badge. He was helped by Gary Mckenzie making 13 special wooden cases that were placed in all the churches in the stake by the bishops offices and stake offices as his eagle project.
He has a quick smile that we will always remember. He loved doing things with his nieces, nephews, many friends and family. He worked at Lowe's, Preston Plastic plant, Grain Growers and Securitas.
He had a Geo car he painted with cottonwood leaves in a camouflage pattern. Everyone knew it was his pride and joy.
He joined the military in May 2010 and told us he had dreamed of being a solider since he was in third grade. He attended basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., followed by paratrooping school for three weeks after basic training. He completed five successful jumps. Cody was assigned to a U.S. Army unit out of Fort Riley, Kan., as an active-duty soldier. He was deployed to Afghanistan on May 13, 2012.
He is survived by his parents Dennis and Mareen Moosman of Preston; brother timothy (Brenda) Moosman of Preston; sister Shelly Kohles of Preston; sister Amanda Moosman of Preston; brother Doyle (Aline) Moosman of Preston; grandparents Otho and Shirlene Moosman of Banida, Idaho; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Ret Moosman; grandparents Ray and Ruth Ormond; and brother Steven, who was stillborn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State St. in Preston, with Bishop Tom Madsen conducting. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Webb funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
